The Way of the Shaman
This is the In-person Introductory Workshop
During this weekend experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the universal, near-universal, and common methods of the shaman to enter nonordinary reality for problem-solving and healing. In a small group, the emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming to experience the shamanic state of consciousness and to awaken dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with compassionate spirit allies and Nature.
This workshop is 14 hours of in-person training offered over a weekend.
Completion of this Basic Workshop with an authorized Foundation Faculty Member qualifies participants to take the advanced FSS workshops.
Workshop Registration and Policies:
The in-person workshop registration fee is $305 plus 13 % HST = $344.65. There is an early bird registration fee of $275 plus HST = $310.75 if received up to 3 weeks before the workshop. Payment can be made by cheque, e-transfer to Catherine@wayfindingspirit.com, or by using your credit or debit card with PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account.
Refund Policy: A full refund is given up to 14 days before the workshop, after 14 days your fee will be held over to another workshop.

Shamanic Extraction Healing Training
Participants are initiated into the extraction method of healing, including how to see, sense, and remove localized illness and pain connected to spiritual factors. This is an important part of shamanic healing training. They will also learn how shamanic practitioners can work in partnership to increase the effectiveness of this work. The Extraction Healing Training workshop is designed exclusively for people who want to bring shamanic healing work into their practice with others; it is not designed for people looking for personal healing.
PREREQUISITES
- The in-person weekend Basic Workshop: The Way of the Shaman;

- Three 7-hour online workshops, if in-person Basic Workshop has not been completed:
- The Shamanic Journey: Pathway to Knowledge & Power
- Shamanic Divination in Practice

Advanced Shamanic Divination Training
Divination is a large part of the work done by shamans. One of the classic tasks of the shaman is to journey into nonordinary reality to obtain answers to questions. This action-packed workshop focuses on several different methods of divination including journeys, and consulting with nature beings. We will work with crystals, object casting, and symbols. This is one of my favourite workshops and I hope you will consider joining me. We will spend some time working outside during this workshop.

Catherine Hughes is a Shamanic Practitioner and Guest Faculty for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Catherine is a very experienced teacher who before joining the Foundation had a career as an Art Educator at Provincial and National museums in Canada.
